Slice of CakeA damn embarrassing thing happened to me last night :(

I went over to the guesthouse as per usual, but because Chantelle was so tired from all our antics the last couple of days, she dropped off to sleep pretty early in the evening, leaving me to fend for myself around the guesthouse.

Deciding that an early night might not be such a bad thing after all, I set about locking up and switching off the necessary lights. When it came to the kitchen, I spied some of the left over cake I mentioned a couple of posts ago – and the trouble began.

Unable to resist but not really wanting to just take without asking, I resolved to take a wafer thin slice (about 5 millimeters of cake) just to get a taste. As I leaned across the counter and grabbed my mini-slice, I got the fright of my life when a guest sneaked up on me and caught me in the act.

Needless to say I recovered from my initial shock quickly enough to act as if nothing happened, but it was still rather embarrassing.

Next time I’m going to switch the kitchen light off first before I pilfer any cake!
