Just When Everything was going so Fine General Nonsense | My Life 02 JUN 2009

Jimmy Carter Speed Limit SignNut bunny short cakes. I was not impressed by the mail that landed up on my desk the other day, no sir I was not. It would seem that the fantastic weekend away with the family at Pinnacle Point at the start of last month didn’t come without a price tag after all… no, fate had another idea in store for me. Fate decided that there is nothing better to do than simply issue me with… a speeding fine.

I haven’t gotten a speeding fine for so many years that I’d actually forgotten just how that much hated piece of post looks like, because if I had known, I would have run away from the security guard who handed us our post in the first place! :)

Anyway, for those of you who like the detaily things in life, the fine was in truth only for a paltry R150, the misdemeanor being that of traveling 106 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.

Now certainly I have no problem in accepting this fine, but there is one slight, teensy weensy little catch: neither Chantelle nor I can for certain remember who was driving the little green Getz at the time – and unfortunately the Riversdale municipality falls outside of the ones where we can actually go online to check out those happy snappy pics!

Oh well, guess I’ll just have to now drop that “I’m such a conscientious driver” bit off my repertoire for a bit! :P
