How to Remove an Adobe AIR Application off Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) CodeUnit 06 AUG 2009

Adobe AIR LogoDespite Adobe AIR being such a nifty idea, which it really is mind you, you’ll quickly find out that uninstalling an Adobe AIR package isn’t quite as easy as you might have hoped for, or rather not quite as intuitive as you might have originally thought.

If you are lucky, then removing an .air application is as simple as opening up your Synaptic Package Manager, searching for the offending application and then removing it from there, but nine times out of ten, this just simply isn’t the case!

Of course, there are more complex ways of removing the application if the package manager can’t help you right, but from past experience I have found that the easiest way to remove an .air application is to either locate on your system or re-download the original .air file and double-click on it, forcing the Adobe AIR Installer to question whether or not your want to remove the existing installation or simply run the application.

Needless to say, if you’re reading this post then you’ll probably be wanting to remove it! :)
