Covered: Lobo #1 (Simon Bisley) Comic Book Art | Comic Books 19 MAR 2011

Is this the face of a madman glaring back at you? The face of the baddest bastich in the galaxy?

That’s right, even DC couldn’t have expected the popularity that went with this guy when they unleashed him on the unsuspecting public for the very first time in his very own miniseries way back in 1990.

With outrageous art from Simon Bisley to match Alan Grant’s edgy, black humour-dripping writing, Lobo quickly garnered a bit of a cult following, and remains to this day one of those edgy, away from mainstream characters that all the un-hip, underground fanboys secretly love.

Anyway, with a piercing cover like this, courtesy of Simon Bisley himself, there is no way Lobo wasn’t going to be grabbing your attention from the get go!

    • Good question, can’t help but wonder myself. It’s thoughts like these that make me sad when I think about how I got rid of 3,000 plus comics once upon a time, simply because my girlfriend at that time didn’t like them! :(
