Covered: Batman #537 (Kelley Jones) Comic Book Art | Comic Books 16 APR 2011

1996’s Batman issue 537 saw us head straight into part two of Doug Moench’s Man-Bat tale, entitled “Darkest Night of the Man-Bat, Part Two: Pursuit”.

At this point in time Kelley Jones was handling the artistic chores on the title, and whether you loved or hated his interior work, there was no denying that the man could construct absolutely darkly divine and atmospheric covers for the Bat.

Case in point. Simple, effective and pure Kelley Jones.

His run was bliss! Perfect Batman. Jones’s interior work was even better to me.Noirish, and symbolic, filled with mystery….I miss it!
