What, who, where am I?!?
Craig Lotter is a web developer based in Gordon's Bay, South Africa, who seems completely incapable of shaking off that pesky inner child within, the one that forces him to love all things animated or hand drawn.
The Rugged Rock of Craig contains snippets of his life, popular culture and all the important things like anime, manga, games and comic books. The CodeUnit of Craig on the other hand contains the more serious stuff like code snippets and tutorials, while the House of C chronicles his foray into the world of web comics.
For which it never seems he has enough time anyway.

My Opinion Download… Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

A little bit silly and pointless, something you can watch on your own when you don’t feel like serious television and just want to take in a little ridiculousness. Oh, and you probably need to be male and appreciate some juvenile humor as well. Continue reading
My Opinion Download… Haibane Renmei

Softly intriguing and well worth the watch if you would prefer a little more fantasy drama to your more explosive mecha habits. Continue reading

My Opinion Download… Oruchuban Ebichu

Oruchuban Ebichu, or Ebichu Minds the House, is a 1999 24 piece anime from Makoto Moriwaki and GAINAX which revolves around the precocious Ebichu, a talking hamster who is utterly devoted to her oft-indifferent owner, known only as OL (short for Office Lady). Ebichu is tasked with the household duties, but also takes a keen interest in her master and her relationship with Worthless Man, particularly their sex life. Continue reading

My Opinion Download… Azumanga Daioh

Hilarious and charmingly cute, all rolled into one humorous slice of life bundle for which you need a heart of coal to not be able to enjoy. 26 episodes consisting of 130 short 5 minute segments of pure silliness, Azumanga Daioh takes you through the daily school lives of six very different girls and two of their teachers, each with their own very eccentric attributes. All aspects of school life through the different seasons are covered (with a gratuitous helping of the absurd along the way) and by the end of their three years in high school, you can’t help but feel you with with them for every step of the way.

My Opinion Download… Mushishi

Hauntingly beautiful. Directed by Hiroshi Nagahama for Artland studios, this 26 episode series adapts the award-winning manga series of the same name by Yuki Urushibara. The story revolves around the ubiquitous spiritual creatures known as Mushi, whose supernatural abilities often flow over and affect the world of man. Most people of incapable of perceiving this natural spirits as they go about their daily existences, but there are a few who can. Continue reading

My Opinion Download… Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

Actually worth a chuckle or two. This 25 episode long series from director Shinichi Watanabe takes the fun scenario of throwing together four gleamingly handsome young lads with a desperate shortage of cash, forced to leech off a wealthy mansion owner in order to survive and then tossed into the situation of being forced to look after the wealthy owner’s niece who moves into the mansion and more importantly turn her into a proper young lady – there is only one problem though: Sunako (the niece) is so emo and disturbed that she’s almost something straight out of a grab your jugular horror movie!
