What, who, where am I?!?
Craig Lotter is a web developer based in Gordon's Bay, South Africa, who seems completely incapable of shaking off that pesky inner child within, the one that forces him to love all things animated or hand drawn.
The Rugged Rock of Craig contains snippets of his life, popular culture and all the important things like anime, manga, games and comic books. The CodeUnit of Craig on the other hand contains the more serious stuff like code snippets and tutorials, while the House of C chronicles his foray into the world of web comics.
For which it never seems he has enough time anyway.

My Opinion Download… The Batman/Superman Movie

What do you do if you have one story broken over three episodes from a hit 1997 television show? You merge them into one movie and make more money by selling them direct to DVD of course! Continue reading

My Opinion Download: The Batman (Season 2)

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. 13 action packed episodes of awesome, featuring Batman and his butler take on a host of villains straight out of his classic rogue’s gallery – albeit all sporting new buffed up Jeff Matsuda designs of course. The writing is fun, the series picks up from exactly where the first one ended (and notes its continuity) and most of all, the stories all happen to be clever, usually quite witty, and filled to the brim with action and adventure (and gadgets!). Covered: Batman: Gotham After Midnight #1 (Kelley Jones)

Kelley Jones holds the unenviable position of being one of the most controversial artists ever to hold a long run stint on a main Batman title (which he did when writer Doug Moench was still churning out the tales in the late 90′s), with his rather uniquely… stylized interior artwork that split fans right down the middle in terms of you either love it or hate it Continue reading

The Batman (Season 1)

Before he became known as the Dark Knight, Gotham’s silent and steely protector, Bruce Wayne, or rather the Batman, needed to first establish himself and his fearsome reputation amongst both Gotham’s criminals and law-abiding citizens alike. These were the early days, when the detective had just begun, still able to make mistakes, but with youth and a vast array of technology at his disposal to help him confirm his concrete legacy against the numerous villains who were just beginning to crawl out of the woodwork… Continue reading

Covered: Catwoman #45 (Adam Hughes)

Selina Kyle has always been a character sitting on the fence over at DC Comics, straddling the line of being either a villain or a likeable person, the latter being difficult to make a reality considering Selina Kyle as Catwoman is at the heart of it all, a burglar. Continue reading

Covered: Batman #500 (Joe Quesada | Kelley Jones)

Issue 500 is a big milestone no matter the comic franchise and it was a biggie in 1993 when Batman volume 1 hit its 500th edition. We were slap bang in the middle of the epic Knightfall crossover story that had seen Bane break Batman’s back, and the subsequent appointing of the relatively unknown Azrael (Jean-Paul Valley) assuming the mantle of the Bat. Issue 500 marked the appearance of a new batsuit, a complete overhaul of the classic design and one far more armoured, colourful and deadly than what most fans would like! Continue reading
