What, who, where am I?!?
Craig Lotter is a web developer based in Gordon's Bay, South Africa, who seems completely incapable of shaking off that pesky inner child within, the one that forces him to love all things animated or hand drawn.
The Rugged Rock of Craig contains snippets of his life, popular culture and all the important things like anime, manga, games and comic books. The CodeUnit of Craig on the other hand contains the more serious stuff like code snippets and tutorials, while the House of C chronicles his foray into the world of web comics.
For which it never seems he has enough time anyway.

Weekend in Review: Christmas Busy

Okay, so maybe the title is a bit of a white lie as in all honesty, only Saturday ended up being busy as all heck, but after the sociable week we enjoyed coming up to the weekend, Chantelle and I more than DESERVED Friday evening and Sunday off for a change! :) Continue reading

Weekend in Review: Braaivleis and Thuggery

So apart from the not so great Friday evening Spur incident of which I spoke earlier, the past weekend treated me pretty kindly after all. Seeing as Chantelle was working this weekend, I got to spend plenty of quality time at the flat, meaning I busied myself with tidying up the place a bit, gluing down the ever annoying telephone cable that runs across the kitchen floor, watching anime and planning tons and tons of Yakuza 2, so much so that I’m not exactly sure where half my weekend went! Continue reading
Weekend in Review (25-27 April)

Yet another Friday of dragging myself out of bed at the ungodly hour of 05:00, getting ready and driving through to UCT, listening to the absolute drivel that 5FM puts out nowadays. I swear, from 05:30 to 06:00, all this moron named KB played on the radio was Shaggy-style Caribbean annoyances, making me almost chew off my fingers in desperation and anger that I had forgotten to burn a new MP3 CD for the car. Luckily it wasn’t all that bad news because once again, this Friday I only had to stay at work until just after 12:00, thereafter having been invited out to lunch with Kyle and Gino by the guys from TsiBA for whom I had set up a lecturer evaluation system. Continue reading

Weber Get Together

Last night saw Chantelle and I make our first trip out of the Somerset West confines, well past Somerset Mall and all the way to Bellvile, to join up with the Montgomery clan at Chantelle’s parent’s place for a big get together. Continue reading
Weekend in Review: Sunday (14-16 March)

By that stage of the day I was knackered, the long day in the sun, all the beer and the labour of Saturday and Sunday in the flat taking its toll on me, so I said my farewells and went back to the flat, intent on going straight to bed… which turned out to be a lie because I ended up chatting with Chantelle on the phone and then packing three boxes of kitchen stuff first! Oh, and squishing in a little bit of blog writing as well. Continue reading
Table Mountain Interrupted

Originally I had plans of taking Chantelle on a sunset cable car trip up Table Mountain last night, but thanks to Monday night’s catastrophe that saw a power cut disable the cable cars leaving countless people stuck up on the mountain and quite a few (now very claustrophobic) people trapped in the cars, all alone in the dark and swaying in the high winds, I decided that maybe this wasn’t the greatest of times to be doing it. As it is, it looks like the area did indeed suffer a power cut last night, so I’m glad we decided to abandon our original plan. Continue reading
