Grabbing the Bottle with Both Hands Jessica 24 JUN 2011

Jessie’s continued development steam-rolls ahead with each and every passing day, with one such milestone being the ability to at last reach out to something in front of her and try to grab it with both hands. Of course, the applies very nicely to her milk bottle and as you can see from the pics, she’s making great inroads towards feeding herself come bottle time.

Soon she’ll be all like, “Look Mom, both hands!” ;)

(And in case you were wondering, she has quite the steely grip in those little hands of hers. I truly fear for my nose and more importantly, nose hairs, every time I get in close!)

Jessica Tastes Porridge for the Very First Time Jessica 16 MAY 2011

Admittedly, I don’t think that I would be all that crazy about rice porridge, but I guess like the box says, this is the best one to start baby out on, just to make sure in case she’s allergic to something!

Anyway, the big day had arrived for Jessica’s first taste of something other than breastmilk, and so mommy had me grab the camera and stand ready to capture the big moment.

Which I did :)

Keep watching right until the end. Man, one always knows how to jinx a good thing! :P

The Power of the Bottle: How to Get Jessica to Stop Screaming Jessica | My Life 16 MAR 2011

If Jessica is hungry then the world knows that Jessica is hungry. What used to be a little mouse squeak has matured into a decent set of lungs, with the stamina to match, and with the little tell of a quivering lip, she can literally drive you up the wall at any given notice.

But it is quite amusing how instantaneously one can stop this little screaming princess dead in her tracks, all with one well-placed prod of a single mommy-milk-drenched teat!

See what I mean? :)

Add PubSubHubbub to Your Blog with PuSHPress! CodeUnit 05 APR 2010

PubSubHubbub is a nice solution to the increasing problem of aggregators struggling to ever get around to parsing your WordPress RSS or Atom feed during its continuous polling thanks to the ever multiplying number of blogs they might need to serve. Basically put, it is a simple, open, server-to-server web-hook-based publish/subscribe protocol that can be seen as an extension to Atom and RSS.

Parties speaking the PubSubHubbub protocol essentially get near-instant notifications via webhook callbacks on feed URL updates and this thus frees up the listening parties from having to continuously poll the publishing party.

Nice.

Anyhow, WordPress has released a great little plugin courtesy of Joseph Scott and Automattic called PuSHPress that basically adds PubSubHubbub capabilities to your WordPress-powered site, turning it into a PuSH server and making it capable of thus entering directly into PuSH partnerships with other listening PuSH parties.

Very nice.

It’s easy to install, simply add a new plugin via your administrator dashboard, search for PuSHPress, install and activate. Couldn’t be any easier (and don’t worry, it won’t change any outwards/visible functionality on your site).
