Comic Book Art: Punisher versus Christmas Elves by Chris Bachalo Comic Book Art | Comic Books 06 JUL 2013

I’m a big fan of Canadian comic book artist Chris Bachalo’s work, having first been introduced to it during his early DC/Vertigo stint, followed by his move to the Generation X team from Marvel.

Anyway, the point is that as expected, he went ahead and produced something rather special for the cover of 2008’s Punisher Max X-Mas Special – after all, how often to you get to see Christmas Elves on the attack!

Pat Lee: Wolverine/The Punisher: Revelation #1 Dynamic Forces Variant Cover (1999) Comic Book Art | Comic Books 14 APR 2012

The Punisher, a driven man hellbent on punishing criminals and not afraid to kill as punishment. Wolverine, a pretty feral hero, a driven man, who tries not to kill too much of the time, but certainly isn’t against it (unless of course you happen to be starring in a 90’s animated television show).

So it was pretty much a no-brainer that these two badasses had to team-up, hence 1999’s Wolverine/The Punisher Revelation miniseries courtesy of the Knights imprint from Marvel.

With variant covers all the rage around that time, Pat Lee was drafted in to come up with this particularly mean Dynamic Forces variant cover, featuring two very angry men.
