Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 Card Builder Cosplay: Reiko Holinger (Rin Higurashi) Cosplay 14 OCT 2013

Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 Card Builder is what is known as an arcade trading game. Yes, that doesn’t sound particularly fun, but the game did feature some original characters introduced to the Gundam universe, and today’s cosplay features one of them, official game mascot Reiko Holinger, brought to life by Japanese cosplayer Rin Higurashi.

Designed by Mine Yoshizaki, Reiko Holinger is an all original character, drafted up to serve as one of the game mascots. Like any of the other game characters, she can take a role of secretary and interact with the player during gameplay, despite being a secret character that only appears much later on in the game.

Listed among Reiko’s hobbies are reading manga and playing video games. How apt. Oh, and apparently she also likes to ride bicycles.

Hoshin Engi Cosplay: So Dakki (Rin Higurashi) Cosplay 29 SEP 2013

Japanese ero cosplayer Rin Higurashi grabs her white bodysuit and funny hat, bringing to life the evil and manipulative So Dakki from the Hoshin Engi franchise.

So Dakki is the Queen of the In Dynasty ruling over China. She is considered one of the most beautiful women in all of China and is also incredibly manipulative and calculative. She is one of the ultimate villans in the story, and one of the most powerful beings in both NingenKai and SheninKai. She loves toying with other people’s lives, especially Taikobou’s because he is her mental arch rival in terms of intelligence.

This 5000 year old fox demon has the ability of taking control of specific female human bodies. Around 60 years ago, she went by the name of Ou Shi (also a Queen), and now, she is So Dakki. Dakki is one of the 3 most powerful Youkai Sennins whom trained in Kingoto, the other two are Bunchuu and Choukoumei. Dakki attained most of her powers (mind control and manipulation by worldly desires) from JyoKa.

Before that, all she ever wanted was power, but later on, when she realizes that the ‘First People’ (alien race of Jyoka) were willing to let go of all their powers to become part of the earth. She started doubting her motives. Then, her agenda changed from wanting power to wanting what the First People did, become part of the Earth as well. Or to be precise, become the “mother” of Earth.

Dead or Alive (DOA) Cosplay: Kasumi (Rin Higurashi) Cosplay 25 AUG 2013

The main character of the Dead or Alive (DOA) fighting game franchise since 1996 bursts into our cosplay feature this week, being none other than the deadly Kasumi, portrayed here by Japanese ero cosplayer, Rin Higurashi!

One of gaming’s foremost sex symbols, Kasumi also happens to be the personal favourite of Team Ninja’s founder and the series creator, Tomonobu Itagaki.

According to the game canon, Kasumi, also known as the Kunoichi of Destiny, is a teenage female shinobi (ninja) skilled in the Mugen style of ninjutsu. Selected as the18th Master of the Mugen Tenshin ninja clan, Kasumi deserted her duties and entered the Dead or Alive tournament in order to defeat Raidou, the man who crippled her brother, in a revenge attack.

Although compassionate and not particularly at ease with violence and conflict most of the time, this highly skilled ninja is however not someone you wish to cross swords with, as she is quite simply, as deadly as she is beautiful!

In terms of gameplay, although altering slightly through the series’ various iterations, Kasumi is primarily a very balanced fighter with good speed, execution and fairly simplistic input commands, and is thus considered a mid-to-top tier character by most. Her range is however fairly lacking and her single strikes not particularly powerful, meaning she is best used as a pressure fighter, in other words constantly attacking without giving her opponent an opportunity to launch an attack.
