Comic Book Art: Scarlet Witch by Travis Charest Comic Book Art | Comic Books 15 DEC 2012

Travis Charest is a Canadian comic book penciller, inker and painter, known for his work on such books as Darkstars, WildC.A.T.s, Grifter/Shi, WildC.A.T.s/X-Men: The Golden Age and The Metabarons. He has also done extensive cover work for many other books, such as various Star Wars series from Dark Horse Comics.

I am particularly fond of his meticulous pencils, attention to detail and just sheer atmosphere that his art seems to evoke, making Travis one of my definite all time favourite artists.

His latest online project is that of Spacegirl, which you can find on his conveniently named Travis Charest’s Spacegirl website. Spacegirl aside though, below is a marvellous illustration he put together of Marvel’s reality altering mutant, the Scarlet Witch, an absolute bewitching visual don’t you agree?

Jim Cheung: Avengers: The Children’s Crusade #3 Cover (2010) Comic Book Art | Comic Books 05 NOV 2011

The search for the Scarlet Witch is finally over as the Young Avengers find Wanda. But is she a hero or a villain? Is she still the Scarlet Witch? The battle over Wanda rages on as Avengers go up against the Young Avengers, Magneto clashes with Quicksilver, Wonder Man battles Wolverine, and the most powerful villain in the Marvel Universe conspires against them all so that he can possess Wanda himself.

With Marvel’s other big hero team being put through their paces by writer Allan Heinberg, with interior art from Jim Cheung and inks by Mark Morales, it was left up to the distinctive Jim Cheung to produce this stunning bit of cover art to wrap up all the goodness inside!
