Shakugan no Shana Cosplay: Shana (Uriu) Cosplay 24 SEP 2013

Today’s cosplay entry borrows a character from Yashichiro Takahashi’s successfull light novel series (and anime adaptation), Shakugan no Shana, played out by the rather talented Japanese cosplayer: Uriu!

In the never-ending battle to ensure balance in this world, Shakugan no Shana’s Shana technically bears no name and is only interested in one thing – slicing up anything that would effect the balance. Befriending by a Torch unlike any other, Yuji Sakai, Shana is gifted the name mainly because a) it gives Yuji something to call her and b) it is better than being called by her full title which is Flame-Haired Blazing-Eyed Hunter.

She is what is called a Flame Haze and wields a nodachi named Nietono no Shana. Although not human, she does seem to carry many of their traits, and as her relationship with the Torch named Yuji deepens, so she as a character further evolves.

Oh, and she has a disturbing love for all things melon bread.

Highschool of the Dead Cosplay: Saeko Busujima (Uriu) Cosplay 21 JUL 2013

Japanese cosplayer Uriu steps forward for today’s Cosplay entry, this time bringing to life the spirited swordsman Saeko Busujima with her penchant for slicing up Zombies and dressing just that little bit too alluring…

One of the six to escape is Saeko Busujima, a keen kendo student who is a master with both her wooden training sword as well as the more deadly real steel deal. Eager for a fight and possessing some fantastic fighting skills and stamina, Saeko is always calm and collected, and is always a rock on which the others can depend.

With her penchant for violence one often forgets that she is in fact a woman, though her rather alluring dress sense (quite unintended for the most part mind you) ensures that the boys don’t forget that fact for too long a period. Oh, and those romantic feelings she seems to be developing for Takahashi helps a little too…
