Private detective Sara Pezzini’s recent exploits have had an unintended, but not all together negative side effect – she’s now actually getting paid to investigate paid supernatural cases! However she may make an enemy of another one of Chicago’s supernatural agents in the process. Meanwhile, all around her forces move in a much larger, sinister symphony…

Written by Tim Seeley and with art from the team of Diego Bernard and Fred Benes, it was left up to artist John Tyler Christopher to come up with this fantastic, negative space inspired and detailed piece of comic book cover art:

Former Game Informer columnist and current Community Manager for the Tomb Raider franchise over at Crystal Dynamics, cosplayer Meagan Marie, also known as Meagan vanBurkleo or VirtualGirl6654, is popular web celebrity who is known for coming up with some fantastic costumes in the past. This week she tackles Top Cow’s NYPD homicide detective Sara Pezzini, wielder of the supernatural, sentient gauntlet – the Witchblade!

Covered: Tales of the Witchblade #8 (Christian Zanier) Comic Book Art | Comic Books 14 MAY 2011

Issue 8 of the 1996 Tales of the Witchblade series, which sought to free the storytellers to tell the tales of the Witchblade gauntlet throughout the ages in different settings and with different wielders, tells the second part of the “Raquel” story arc, written by Bill O’Neil and Michael Turner.

In addition to the interior artwork, Christian Zanier was also tasked with bringing this Egyptian-themed Witchblade wielder to life, with inks from Sean P. Parsons and colors by Peter Steigerwald.

The 1996 Tales of the Witchblade series which sought to free the storytellers to tell the tales of the Witchblade gauntlet throughout the ages in different settings and with different wielders, kicked off with a pirate tale entitled “A Tale of Anne Bonny: Witchblade of the High Seas”, written by Top Cow editor Christina Z.

Variant cover 1a featured the art of one Michael Turner, a man known for his particularly fetching illustrations of women characters. Inks are provided by D-Tron and colour by J.D. Smith.
