Sick BearWe’ve been waiting months for what surely may be the wedding event of the year now, Andrea and Albert’s Elvis-themed wedding at the HB Thom Theatre, Stellenbosch, today… which can only explain my extreme frustration at falling sick to some or other stomach bug yesterday!!

Friday started out as any other Friday would. My boss still isn’t speaking to me and varsity holidays means that my workload is pretty light at the moment, so I was all set for a nice relaxing day in the office until 15:00 in the afternoon when home time would finally beckon – except that I didn’t quite make 15:00 in the end! It started off innocuously enough in the beginning I must admit, but as the day progressed I started to feel more and more nauseous and surprisingly enough going to the bathroom wasn’t quite the solid affair I was expecting. :P

As the hours progressed, the feeling of nauseousness got worse and worse (so bad that I didn’t even go to the cafeteria for my customary muffin or croissant!) and unfortunately for Ryan, he got to hear me ‘shouting’ over our MSN chat, “bathroom ASAP!!!” before running down to the bathroom (the stairs were not fun, believe me) in order to hurl my left lung out. Charming I tell you.

And that was that. Now not feeling in any mood to still try and get any work done for the day, I bade Luigi farewell and made the long journey back to Gordon’s Bay, where I stumbled inside the flat, dropped everything as I entered and dragged myself straight into bed where I proceeded to sleep all the way up to 19:00!

I woke up with a killer of a headache and after aimlessly waddling around for about a half an hour, I was back in the bed and sound asleep until Chantelle arrived home, also not feeling in tip top shape believe it or not! And that was pretty much our Friday evening – the both of us fast asleep in bed with only the cats providing any sort of ‘life’ here at 45 Nagua Bay!

Thankfully this morning I am feeling a little better already, but I’m still not 100% and I’m pissed off because I know I’m not going to be able to enjoy this afternoon’s wedding to the fullest – and it’s an open bar damnit!

But despite my crappy feeling, I can’t help but feel even sorrier for poor Andrea who must be stressed out of her mind – both her ring-bearer and one of her flower girls are also currently down and out with the same bug at the moment!

Shame, I can only hope the two of them manage to pull themselves together in time for the big ceremony later today! Or else it may just provide for some pretty hilarious ‘funniest home movie’ clips in the future! :)
