Ooh, it’s been a while (since March this year to be exact) but in a couple of hours’ time I’ll be making an unprecedented week night trip into Bellville where I’ll join up with Ryan at mom’s place, enjoy a home-cooked supper and then jet off to Karl’s flat for the unavoidable Jeremy and Karl versus Craig and Ryan FIFA 07 PS2 clash, hosted for the first time ever at Mr Storbeck’s abode and on his giant wall of a TV (hopefully Patricia will be able to weather the storm of trash talk that is bound to fly her way).
Apart from Karl who has obviously been practicing since getting the call up last week, the rest of us haven’t touched the game for months, meaning that tonight should be quite a fun affair of cursing, blaming faulty controllers, eating chips and hurling insults and jibes at one another.
Needless to say I’m looking forward to it (as is Chantelle, who mysteriously says that it will be good for me. I’m not sure why, but I assume it is because it means that she’ll be able to enjoy a peaceful night’s rest without me snoring next to her.)
Oh, and while I’m on the topic of gaming, you might want to do yourself a favour and swing by your local Game branch if you can – they are currently holding quite a large console and PC game sale and there are quite a few gems going for some ridiculously low prices. I’ve managed to pick up the last big RPG on the PS2, Rogue Galaxy, for a ridiculously low R99! Talk about lucky! :)
