FileZilla has for long been my favorite graphical interface FTP application, the backbone of my online development work done here from home. Now that I am running Ubuntu (9.04 Jaunty Jackalope) almost exclusively here in the office, I wanted to continue this trend and thus this short little piece on how to go about installing and accessing FileZilla in your Ubuntu installation.

First off, to quickly install the FileZilla client, open a terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and enter: sudo aptitude install filezilla

Once you have followed the on screen prompts, FileZilla will be downloaded and installed, and once completed, you can then go ahead and access the FTP application by navigating to Applications -> Internet -> FileZilla FTP client.
