The 
Lorem Ipsum dummy text is an invaluable tool to designers as it has a more or less normal distribution of letters and thus creates a far more “readable” design than just using copy pastes of “Content Here” all over the place.
This dummy text has long been the printing and typesetting industry’s standard test pattern, its usage having been traced all the way back to the 1500s. It is however not simply random text as most people think, believe it or not. Rather it has its roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC entitled “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” by Cicero, thus making it over 2000 years old!
Anyway, the point of this quickfire post is to highlight a great online resource that has been sitting around for years already, namely the online Lorem Ipsum resource, sitting at http://www.lipsum.com/. Besides some general Lorem Ipsum loving, the site features a handy generator that is capable of generating paragraphs, words, lists and even bytes of randomly generated, valid Lorem Ipsum text.
Pretty darn useful indeed.
