For a while now Ubuntu has shipped with Transmission as its default installed BitTorrent client, and in truth it does work, despite being a little bare-boned in terms of features. However, there are a host of alternative, more feature-rich BitTorrent clients for Linux out there, with one of my favourites being Deluge.
It’s fast, slick and packed with all sorts of functionalities – and as a nice bonus, pretty easy to install under Ubuntu.
From the terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:deluge-team/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install deluge
Done. You’ll find it under Applications -> Internet -> Deluge BitTorrent Client, or you can just search in Unity for Deluge.
Well worth trying out! :)
